Checklist

I like Jen's idea (over at iheartorganizing) of having a checklist of projects to complete. Also, it will give an idea of what kind of posts are to come.

Not in any particular order...

  • Studio
    • Unpack all the boxes in my studio/craft room.
    • Set up my studio room
    • Buy baskets for the cubbies
    • Make wrapping station from Reader Space idea on iheartorganizing
  • Guest bedroom
    • Pick out bedding
    • Fix Maria painting's frame (it busted during the move)
    • Move the sofa into the studio
    • Buy a new cushion for the papasan chair and move it to the guest room
    • Look on craigslist for a bed frame (Queen)
    • Buy or make a mirrored wall piece
  •  Laundry room
    • Paint laundry room. I'm loving a soft coral color right now.
    • Hang shelves above the machines for detergent and softener
    • Organize the wire rack as a sorting station.
    • Install a door knob
  • Master bedroom
    • Paint or tape faux moulding (or maybe just go for it)
    • Remove filing cabinet and TV (put in guest room)
    • Adhere rug to the floor so it will stop slipping
    • Find a place for the ottoman/bench
    • Headboard <--this has been something I've been trying to figure out for 4 years!
    • Beadboard my room
  • Master Bath
    • Glitterize the mirror!
    • Hang shower curtain
    • Remove rust from the curtain rod
    • Shower caddy
    • TP holder
    • Better rugs
    • Hang the shelf/drawers (when I find them in a box)
  • Front Bath
    • Steam clean the floors
    • Find a better mirror (They are awful and small and tacky!)
    • Wallpaper the shelves in the corner
    • Add a towel rack or hooks behind the door
    • Add a lip to the bottom of the shower so water doesn't get on the floor
    • Buy/make a wooden bath mat
  • Living room
    • Paint TV stand
    • Consider painting a wall
    • Hang Maria
    • Put the Buddha painting in the guest room
    • Make better couch cushions
    • Move the room AC unit outside or give back to the landlord
    • Finish making all the Mexican flowers for the vases
    • Paint the vases
    • Make papel picado
  • Kitchen
    • Make a rolling cabinet for the side of the frige (thanks reader space!)
    • Think about tiling a backsplash with square inch tiles
    • Add a book shelf to the kitchen and use for additional storage. (May have to paint it)
    • Reorganize the cabinets
    • Put magnets on the frige!
    • Add some storage space on top of the frige
    • Install curtains above the cabinets to hide things stored up there.
  • Outside
    • Weed-whack everything!!!
    • Clean out the front planter and get it ready for planting in fall
    • Buy 4 pots of the same size. Paint them and put address on them. Plant cacti in them.
    • Install a picket fence!
    • Sign up for irrigation
    • Rake the backyard
    • Clean up the fences
    • Create some sort of patio
    • Sweep the concrete and clean up debris under the oleanders
    • Install locks on the security door.
    • Paint the door white, if possible
Wooo, that is quite the list! But it's an ancient house that's in crappy condition held together by gum and duct tape basically. I'm only renting but I know that my landlord doesn't care what I do to it as long as it's in the best interest of the home. Also, I plan to be here for a while. Lots of pictures along the way!

Ericka suggests that I use instagram for my photos on this blog. Any thoughts?
