New Kitchen Shelves
My kitchen is very small. I'd say floor space is 5' x 6'6" and room space that's mostly appliances and counter space is 7'6" x 9". I have only a few cupboards that have to be used for both food and dishes because I do not have a pantry. I also had a lizard that I kept in the counter because it received light from the door's window.
But good news! A family that I babysit for is moving, unfortunately. But, they gave me two shelf units and I placed one in the kitchen. At first I thought that It would waste the valuable floor space, but actually makes the kitchen look bigger by freeing up the counter tops.
I had dishes in the sink so I didn't take a full kitchen photo, but here are the shelves.

Mini Kitchen Update
I created a DIY wine glass rack by using 1' strips of L-shaped moulding and small nails. It was hard to nail in without splitting the wood but in the end it worked out. If you look close, it's not cosmetically perfect, but it gets the job done.

A quick little project
As I was cleaning up this evening, i decided to do a lil project.
I saw a post on iheartorganizing about how to organize under the sink. And though they were are reasonable priced supplies, I haven't started tw school year yet and needed to use what I had around.
I cut a box to fit under the sink likes drawer. I wrapped it in paper bag-like wrapping paper I had bought previously at the Dollar Tree. I used packing tape to adhere it to the box. Then I used little $1 section baskets from Target on the right side and added my spray bottles. I filled the left side with my stash of paper towels as a reusable Trader Joe's bag for recycling.

Organizing my iPhone icons
Hello blog world,
My youngest brother (9) has come to visit me from Los Angeles. This has put some projects on hold this weekend.
But while we sit and watch Empire Strikes Back, I decided to organize my iPhone icons to condense to 2 screens, rather than the 5 I had going.
I also put the groups in alphabetical order.

Purse Organization
I decided to clean out my purse. I'm a teacher and a nanny, so I have to carry around a lot at all times. I also carry around my meds and vitamins because who knows where I'll be when I need them. I should invest in a pill container, however I'll never remember to fill it each week and I'm also afraid of it opening inside my purse. I'll have to go to the contain store and see what they have.
Anywhoozle, let's see what I did.
I travel with an iphone usb cord for my car or my computer. This large paperclip is perfect for holding it together without slipping.
I currently hold my meds in one ziplock, toiletries in one ziplock, vitamins in another.
The Hello Kitty zippy has travel sized cosmetics and perfumes. I have new cosmetic canvas zippies I'll transfer these to when I get home.
I then got this organizer from the Dollar Tree. It's flimsy and not high quality, but maybe it will work. I'm using it for receipts and coupons. I labeled them Target, Walmart, Groceries, and Misc.
I need to add a label to the front. Haven't decided if I want to print something or just use markers on a white label.
The inside of my purse. Btw, I got the purse for $4.00 at the Goodwill. I just gave it a good washing in the washer and it was perfect.

Earring holder
I got the idea for this from Pinterest. I'll have to link back later because I don't have access to it from the classroom.
Use a block grater for hanging earrings and clips!
I used a coat of white primer and then a coat of green from Walmart that was about $3.97. I will be painting my TV stand for the living room this color. I'm super excited! Just been waiting for the all-clear on monsoons.
I need ideas for what else I can use this purple rack for, since I don't need two in the closet and I prever the silver owl one.
Address #s Potted Plants
I got the idea of this from a neighbor near the family I work with.
I bought these bins at Dollar Tree for $1.00 each. Then I used an Ikea mailer to cut out the numbers of my address. I drew them freehand.
I used Windex as "glue" to hold the paper to the bin without leaving a residue.
Then I used white spray paint from Walmart ($0.97)
I peeled off the paper after about a minute, while the paint was still wet so it wouldn't peel the paint too. It's ok if it's drippy and runny.
Then I used acetone from Sally's (on sale $4.99) and a Q-tip to clean up the edges.
Tada!
I bought these cubes from Dollar Tree. I left the plastic on them to protect it from the elements outside, or so I hope.
I pushed in these colorful flowers I bought at Dollar Tree ($8.00 total). Then I glue gunned the bottom of the cubes to the inside of the bins to help keep them in place. I also put pieces of tile in the bins to weight them down.
Finished the Rope Basket
Hey everyone,
I finished the rope basket last night and I'm in love with it! I will use a better quality rope for the next basket, but I am thrilled with the results for my first try!

That's using an instagram filter. I like it.
I lined the inside with an old pillow case. I cut the seems, tied the bottom with a rubberband (on the side that touches the basket to hide it) and glue gunned it to the rim to meet the rope. Now you can't notice the gaps in the top of the basket where I first started.
I got the rope at Walmart for $3.97 and the glue gun sticks were $1.00 for a pack of 20 vs last time I got a pack of 10 for $1.47 at Walmart.

Master Bedroom
I took some photos of my bedroom last night after I hung the rosette ball. The photos are only waist-high because my bed wasn't made! (I was washing my sheets.)
This is the NW corner. I'm not sure what I was trying to accomplish with the wrapping paper art. Maybe someone has some ideas? The frame is from Michael's and wasn't even, hence the ripple.
NE corner. SH are my initials. I believe I got those from Target in the $1 bins. The rose are is from Ikea, think it was about $8. Frames are from the Goodwill - $2 - $4. The antique mirror is from Kirkland's Home on clearance for $5 last Christmas.
West wall. Pardon the ceiling fan glare. That TV and filing cabinet have to go out of the room. Buddha tapestry is from Target for $20 in 2009. The arm chair is from my godmother as a gift from her consignment store (Fabulous Finds, Scottsdale, AZ)
South wall. Audrey Hepburn and Cupcake ($12.99) wall art are from Target; gifts from my godmother. Mirror side table was also a gift. It may have been from PB Kids. The lamp is from Ikea, shade and lamp stand sold separately. Barbie alarm clock is from my childhood.
I didn't take a picture of my East wall. I guess it's because that wall just has my closet door and the bathroom door.
